Name: Ivy Walker
Age: 19
Personality: A bit quiet and reserved at times, but not at all shy. She has a bit of a wry sense of humor, and though she is gentle and kind by nature, she is also extremely hard headed and stubborn when she wants to be, and has a bit of a fiery disposition. She also can be quite clever, and is very much the kind of person to use any disadvantages and turn them into an advantage.
Backstory: Ivy was abandoned almost immediately after her birth, though she got over this long ago. She was “adopted” collectively by a small Amish community in New England. However, the adults in the village quickly learned Ivy was blind, when her big, pale blue eyes were always wide open, but never staring. They were just….there. She was named Ivy, after the pattern on the blanket she had been wrapped in, and was integrated into the little family of lost children. It was clear Ivy had a knack for adapting, as when she started to crawl, she quickly learned where the furniture was so she wouldn’t bump into it. Her favorite toys were always the ones with interesting textures, or the ones that made some kind of noise when you squeezed them . She never cared for dolls or little toy animals, unless they were especially soft. As she got older, some of the kids would try to play pranks on her, attempting to use her blindness to her disadvantage, but Ivy always seemed to get the best of them. Being blind had made her hearing, smell, touch, and taste much more acute, and children naturally aren’t very good whisperers, so she was able to evade their plans quite well, and always gave them a small smile that was both mysterious and slightly creepy, what with how dead her eyes were.
Ivy never became terribly athletic, but she did have a fondness for running, and feeling the wind on her face. Running never really was a wise option though, as it always ended with her tripping and falling on her face. She always managed to laugh it off though, and just stand up and start running again. She did quite well in academics, out of necessity becoming quite good at mental math and remembering what it was she wrote down. However, Ivy had a restless nature, and as such eventually left the Amish village behind, intending to get a higher education. However, despite how well she had done in school, she found that she didn’t have enough money to go to a decent college, as the scholarships offered to her still weren’t enough for her to afford it. So she moved. She moved to a small village where she got a job as a nanny, as she always was quite good with the younger children at the orphanage. You might find it skeptical that people would hire a blind woman as a nanny, but Ivy actually has done quite well in adapting so that it’s hard to tell if she’s blind or not. She does hope to eventually raise enough money to get a good education, but for right now, she’s content.
Family{if any}: None.
Weakness: Her blindness, for one. It makes her lean on her hearing and touch quite a bit. If you were to push her off a cliff, she might not realize what you were doing until her feet were above her head. She also can’t swim very well, and isn’t good in unfamiliar terrain.
Strength: Ivy is very good at adapting, and if she struggles with something, she will put all her willpower into overcoming that struggle. She’s also a very good singer. ^^
